" We think we listen, but we very rarely do listen with real understanding, true empathy. Yet listening of this very special kind, is one of the most potent forces for change that I know."

Counselling Sessions

Welcome to McKenzie Counselling, my name is Anna and I am a Qualified Person-centred Counsellor. A member of the British Association of Counsellor and Psychotherapists (BACP).

I offer both face to face sessions along with counselling via telephone or video call (via zoom or teams). I have up to date training and experience in working via these means, and have found they can have many benefits when trying to fit our therapy in our busy lives.

My Counselling Experience

Qualified Professional - MBACP- DBs Checked - Insured

As a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor I have experience working both with Adults and Children/young people.

My work with Adults has given me experience supporting people facing:

Depression, Anxiety, Self Harm, Addiction, Grief, Marriage/Relationship breakdowns, Trauma, Sexual Abuse, Historical Abuse, Childhood trauma, Health trauma, Postnatal depression and Birth trauma, Loss of identity, PTSD, Work stress

My approach is empathic and based around exploring your own thoughts and feelings. The Person-centred approach to counselling has found to be beneficial as you are able to really be honest with yourself and make choices for your own growth. Counselling is a a two way process as I provide the space and reflections to support you in your journey, you will explore what you feel you want to and at your own pace.

What are your fees?

Adults 60 minute Session £50
Children/Young Adults (under 18) 60 minute Session £40
Trainee Counsellors 60 minute Session £35

How many sessions are recommended?

This is entirely personal and dependent on the individual reason for coming to counselling. I would recommend a review session after 4-6 sessions to check in how you are finding the sessions.

What is your cancellation policy?

Our policy is that 48hours notice should be given of any cancellation by the client. Failure to do this will mean the session would still need to be paid for. Each cancellation can be taken into consideration and effort made to reschedule instead.
